Compare the original 1k with the Cyrus Plus board (AmigaOne X5000) + as mentioned an PPC adaptor for ordinary computers + naturally as I think will become a new sudden chock for mankind a totally new and really innovative, creative and impressive Amiga *or whatever brand* hardware platform developed by some partly self-taught engineers; who knows?

The AmigaOne X5000 is the latest PowerPC based Amiga computer. The new board, codenamed Cyrus Plus, will be an eventual replacement for the Nemo board (or AmigaOne X1000). A-EON technology have commissioned Varisys to develop a new high-end platform specifically created to run the AmigaOS and a number of other operating systems (such as Ubuntu, Debian and many other distributions and systems). The Cyrus Plus board is designed around Freescale’s QorlQ P5 64-bit PowerPC CPU SoC range. These high performance, low power-consumption multi-core CPUs contain 64-bit e5500 cores manufactured in 45 nm process technology.

The first model in the Cyrus Plus series, the AmigaOne X5000, contains the dual-core P5020 CPU running at 2.0 GHz. The new board is under beta testing by a small group of users and developers. Once that process is complete an additional batch of boards will be manufactured for everyone to purchase and use. The Cyrus Plus board will also support the P5040 when it becomes commercially available in greater volume. This is a 64-bit quad-core PowerPC Freescale CPU which operates up to 2.2 GHz.
